PROGRAMS
FIT HOUSE
Group exercise is an adults playground to build strong healthy bodies. OUR House provides a Fitness for Free model for communities in untraditional places for exercise. We empower people with nutrition and self-management education.
Current programs include Monday night with UBCC and Saturday Supreme with The Salvation Army Eastside Corps.
FILM HOUSE
Video is the easiest way to create an emotional connection with an audience. Through a "pay-it-forward" system, we assist startups with video to help them gain customers and promote their services. In our young film makers
academy youth are taught the tools necessary to run their own production.
GREEN HOUSE
Gardening lends an opportunity to active learning and environmental stewardship.
We provide classes on landscaping, herb
and container gardening as well as organize neighborhood beatification projects.
We adopt various vacant lots in some blighted areas and transform them into “Pocket Parks” so that the youth from the neighborhood can have a safe place to play.
ART HOUSE
Art brings people together from all aspects of life, creates conversation in public places, and serves as healing through expression. Kansas City has a rich art culture and OUR House will lend support and bring awareness to this culture.
SCHOOL HOUSE
Scholarships provide an opportunity for people to earn an education. Through gifted funding, OUR House assists students who may have trouble paying for various college fees such as books and technology.
RUN THE HOUSE
We sponsor curriculum based athletic teams that encourage positive emotional, social, mental and physical development. Participants in this program gain important strategies that help them navigate through life experiences and challenges.
